Community Ambitions provides day services for Adults living with Intellectual Disabilities which foster independence, self-reliance and promote positive quality of life for the individual.

The goals of Community Ambitions are to provide opportunities and experiences which:

  • Maintain existing skills
  • Promote the acquisition of new skills
  • Provide an environment which is conducive to personal growth and emotional well-being and fosters a positive attitude towards self and others
  • Enhance opportunities for vocational and community participation

Facility Based Prevocational Program

The objective of this program is to develop, maintain and maximize the individual’s abilities in areas critical to paid competitive employment by:

  • Offering a wide variety of in house work opportunities
  • Contracts with industries
  • Production of health care equipment

The ultimate goal for the participant in this level of our program is to gain paid competitive employment.

To ensure adequate support and to maintain an atmosphere which is conducive to personal growth, the optimal enrolment is 20 individuals and the maximum capacity is 25.

Individual Community Based Work Experience and Employment

This part of our program provides opportunities for individuals who are not quite ready for competitive employment to gain more skills.

We provide support for the individual until they are able to become competitively employed.
